Jag Dosanjh, President of Neurosciences and Eye Care at AbbVie, was recognized by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) as its 2023 Honorable Mentor.
The HBA is a global nonprofit organization committed to furthering women’s advancement and impact in healthcare. The organization is led by individuals and organizations that share the following commitments:
- Achieving gender parity in leadership positions
- Facilitating career and business connections
- Providing effective practices that enable organizations to realize the full potential of their female talent
“We all come preloaded with potential, with possibilities. We all have intellect, ambition and talent. And when we apply ourselves and work hard, we can do pretty well on our own. But there comes a point in everyone’s career when going alone just doesn’t cut it anymore,” Dosanjh said on the HBA’s LinkedIn.
Dosanjh credits connecting with others, asking questions and seeking advice for helping him get on his feet when he first entered the corporate world in the U.S.
“A simple act of reaching out to my coworkers, my team, the people who became my mentors and taught me so much. I learned from everyone — my peers, my managers and even the people I’m supposed to be mentoring — just by asking questions,” Dosanjh said.
