Sen. Bernie Sanders, Ariana Grande and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got into a Twitter storm about progressive policies after Grande tweeted song lyrics on Friday.
Grande started it all by tweeting “baby how u feelin,” song lyrics from Lizzo’s hit song “Good As Hell,” which the pair recently remixed. In response to the tweet, the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate quickly jumped in with some of his progressive policies.

Medicare for every American is one of the key policies Sanders is running on, which has attracted both widespread support and harsh criticism. His plan would get rid of copays, premiums and deductibles while simultaneously including all inpatient and outpatient hospital care, emergency services, preventative services, most prescription drugs, and dental and vision coverage underneath the government’s program.

The only things not covered would be elective procedures and some prescription drugs.
Grande, a known fan of Sanders, retweeted Sanders’ tweet, and it took off from there when Ocasio-Cortez joined the Twitter discussion by pairing Grande’s songs with policies she supports. Ocasio-Cortez recently endorsed Sanders for president.

Ocasio-Cortez decided to endorse Sanders for multiple reasons — one of them being that he was one of the first inspirations for her to run for office.
“The only reason that I had any hope in launching a long-shot campaign for Congress is because Bernie Sanders proved that you can run a grassroots campaign and win in an America where we almost thought it was impossible,” Ocasio-Cortez said to supporters at an Oct. 19 rally in New York. “It wasn’t until I heard of a man by the name of Bernie Sanders that I began to question and assert and recognize my inherent value as a human being that deserves health care, housing, education and a living wage.”
