BASF’s site in McIntosh, Alabama, recently donated more than $40,000 to the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) to support programs that assist with improving the quality of life in the surrounding communities. United Way encourages communities to build bridges toward financial stability, speak up about needs of neighbors and be helping hands to improve the lives of those in the area. With BASF’s contribution, more than 50 partner organizations will benefit from the funds.

“This partnership with United Way has given BASF and our employees the opportunity to help strengthen our community,” said Marcus Pezent, Site Director of BASF in McIntosh. “Our contribution represents a commitment to invest in the critical needs of our neighboring counties.”

United Way’s mission is to stand united against the community’s most daunting social crises. The organization fights for health, education, financial stability and access to life’s essential needs for every person in every community it serves.

“BASF has served as a perfect corporate partner. They heavily invest in our community through advocacy, volunteerism and financial support,” said Jill Chenoweth, President and CEO of UWSWA. “The company and its employees act as servant leaders, and UWSWA greatly appreciates our long partnership with BASF. Their work aids in accomplishing UWSWA’s mission to improve the quality of life in Southwest Alabama.”
