BASF Provides Meals With Sack Hunger Challenge

BASF ranked No. 12 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

BASF has launched its annual “Sack Hunger Challenge” to support the Kansas Food Bank by donating $100 per defensive sack garnered by the Kansas State University Football Team during a game in 2022.

“As a fan and a volunteer for this cause, I cheer even louder when the ‘Sack Hunger Challenge’ game is underway because I know the more dollars we help raise for the Kansas Food Bank, the less people will go hungry in our community,” said Mike Hofer, Kansas State Graduate and Director of U.S. Crop Protection at BASF.

The Kansas Food Bank helps provide meals to 1 in 8 Kansans experiencing food insecurity by partnering with over 200 food pantries. The food bank also helps serve hungry children with its Food 4 Kids program, as well as seniors with its senior food box program.

“With the cost of living increases we have been dealing with over this past year, the food bank has been serving an ever-increasing need” said Brian Walker, President & CEO of the Kansas Food Bank.  “Every donation we receive helps to put food on the table tonight for someone that needs a helping hand. We are grateful for the long running partnership with BASF and for their outstanding support in fighting hunger in Kansas.”

Thanks to the “Sack Hunger Challenge,” BASF was able to donate $3,000 to Kansas Food Bank. This marks the eighth consecutive year of the challenge.
