Comcast Awards $1 Million to 10 Emerging Black Filmmakers

Comcast NBCUniversal ranked No. 7 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

 

Comcast NBCUniversal’s Black Experience on Xfinity awarded 10 winners $1 million in Emerging Black Filmmaker grants. 

The initiative was launched as a celebration of Black Experience’s second anniversary, as well as its commitment to support Black content and creators.

“The Black Experience on Xfinity has been a strong supporter and promoter of emerging Black content creators. Filmmaker grants are one of the many ways we can leverage our platforms to amplify authentic stories and voices that need to be heard,” said Keesha Boyd, Vice President, Entertainment Emerging Products.

The winning films include:

  • Our Blues Make US Gold, Ashley and Brandon Deese
  • The Bike Vessel, Eric D. Seales, Jr.
  • “Ellas Vinieron de Las Nubes” They Came From the Clouds, Jamal Ademola
  • I am John Gabbana, Jennifer Pessima
  • The Dream Chaser (Documentary) Full Feature, Michael Emokhor
  • Juju, Moon Ferguson
  • Behind The Clippers (Four Part Docu-series), Quintin Arthur
  • Shoutout 2 My Therapist, Stefanie Philpott
  • The Voicemail, Tari Robinson
