Comcast Awards Over $25 Million to Organizations Improving Digital Skills

Comcast NBCUniversal ranked No. 13 on the Fair360 Top 50 Companies list in 2023.

Comcast Corporation announced an award of more than $25 million to hundreds of community organizations, providing necessary resources and support to create a stronger, more equitable workforce.

The company has been actively promoting equity and equal opportunities for all individuals, and this funding is a part of that mission.

“When more people across our country are given the full set of tools and opportunity to secure good jobs, we change much more than just one person’s life. We create a butterfly effect that reaches across communities — and our entire economy,” said Dalila Wilson-Scott, EVP & Chief Diversity Officer for Comcast Corporation and President of the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation.

According to the National Skills Coalition, 92% of jobs require digital skills but nearly one in three workers lack these skills. People of color and low-income individuals are disproportionately affected, but progress can be made in closing the digital divide through targeted workforce development.

The funding will help over 200 organizations, including the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), Genesys WorksThe Hidden Genius Project, National Urban League and Reboot Representation Tech Coalition.

The recent announcement is part of Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion commitment to promoting digital equity and creating a future of Unlimited Possibilities.
