Cox Communications Helps Improve Public Safety in Las Vegas

Cox Communications ranked No. 18 on the Fair360 2023 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list.

Cox Communications partnered with the City of Las Vegas to deploy a private wireless network downtown, helping improve public safety.

The wireless network covers eight city blocks in the Fremont Street area, powering video cameras and real-time data analytics to enhance safety and security. The initiative also provides the foundation for more smart city applications in the future.

The technology was implemented to create safer spaces for Las Vegas’s 700,000 residents and 38 million annual visitors, allowing residents, businesses and visitors more peace of mind to live, work and play.

“Cities of all sizes are actively improving their public spaces and Cox can employ smart technology to create healthier, more connected environments that align with those plans,” said Brett Lasher, General Manager of Cox Private Networks.

The Las Vegas Fremont Street project also partnered with Cambium Networks, a leading global provider of networking solutions and edge infrastructure, including Dell PowerEdge servers from Dell Technologies.
