Deborah Nash, ‘Gardening While Black’ Antagonist, Hires White Supremacist Attorney for Civil Suit

Deborah Nash, one of the problematic women from the high-profile “Gardening while Black” infamy, has hired alt-right attorney Kyle Bristow to defend her.

Nash, who insists that she is not a racist, came under fire in a Detroit courtroom last month for repeatedly fabricating charges against Marc Peeples in calls to the Detroit Police Department.

The “gardening while Black” case was widely reported as another example of black Americans being unfairly targeted by whites and police while doing everyday activities.

Throughout 2017 and 2018, Deborah Nash and two other white women made a range of serious allegations from theft to him, allegedly, making threats to them. Peeples dedicated his time building an urban garden in the neighborhood where he grew up. Although the case was tossed out of court by a judge, who stated that Nash and the other women “should be sitting at the defendant’s table for stalking and harassment charges, not Mr. Peeples,” he filed a civil suit against the woman to the tune of $300,000.

Kyle Bristow, the alt-right attorney, is now defending Deborah Nash’s bogus claims against Marc Peeples.

Court records show that Nash is being represented by Clarkston-based attorney Kyle Bristow, who, among others, represented white supremacist leader Richard Spencer and is a self-described “attorney for the alt-right.”

Alt-right is a political ideology is a loosely connected far-right, white nationalist movement.

Marc Peeples’ attorney, Robert Burton, stated: “Kyle Bristow’s representation of Deborah is wholly appropriate.”

And it is. Nash’s attorney-choice is infamous for bringing a first-amendment legal challenge against Michigan State University after it denied Spencer the opportunity to speak on campus. His challenge prompted the school to settle and reverse their decision.

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Bristow page highlights his record as an MSU student in the mid-2000s. During that time, he organized a “catch an illegal immigrant day” that was eventually canceled and led a “straight power” rally in front of the Lansing city hall.

Deborah Nash’s decision to hire someone with a reputation for being xenophobic and racist to defend her is indicative of the person she says she isn’t.
