Disney’s Allie Kawamoto Choy Celebrates COMPASS ERG for AAPI Heritage Month

Allie Kawamoto Choy is the Experience Integration Manager for Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.

Allie Kawamoto Choy, Experience Integration Manager for Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, celebrated Disney’s COMPASS employee resource group (ERG) in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

The COMPASS ERG is committed to advocating for, celebrating and educating about the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community. Choy is the co-chair of the resource group.

Choy has recently collaborated with Resort Enhancement on the Emporium retail display windows at the park to represent Children’s Day in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month. Children’s Day is a public holiday in Japan.

“Having a window display on Main Street, U.S.A., to honor this holiday meant the world to me and to so many fellow cast members,” Choy said. “Seeing a piece of your culture authentically represented in the park is so meaningful. And being able to bring my [then] 10-month-old son to see it made it even more special.”

Choy has also worked with partners to feature Lunar New Year artwork on hotel key cards in celebration of the holiday.
