Eli Lilly’s Latest ESG Report Highlights Progress Toward Sustainability Goals

Eli Lilly ranked No. 5 on the Fair360 2023 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list.

 

Eli Lilly and Company recently published its latest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, highlighting its progress towards ambitious sustainability goals.

These highlights include:

The company achieved a more than 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions between 2020 and 2022 despite significant business growth during the same period. Additionally, it made progress in workforce diversity, with minority group members occupying 25% of management positions in the U.S. and women holding nearly half (49%) of management positions globally.

“Since Lilly was founded nearly 150 years ago, we’ve aimed to have a positive impact on patients, communities and the environment. Sustainability is critical to our resiliency as a business and is integrated into how we fulfill our purpose of creating medicines that make life better for people,” said James Greffet, Head of ESG at Lilly.

Lilly also expanded the use of solar energy at the company’s global facilities and received an A- score for climate and water submissions from CDP in 2022.
