Fans Want Meghan McCain Fired After Disrespecting Joy Behar on ‘The View’

It’s no secret that heated conversations take place on ABC network’s morning talk show, “The View.” And Monday’s episode was no different. Co-hosts, Meghan McCain and Joy Behar along with fellow hosts Abby Huntsman and Sunny Hostin, were discussing former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s resignation during the “Hot Topics” segment of the popular talk show.

The inflamed conversation, itself, wasn’t the issue but Meghan McCain’s, consistently, disrespectful behavior as well as her temper tantrums on the show were. Fans have had enough and are calling for her to be fired.

The two often butt heads because of their contrasting political views.

McCain spoke at length about immigration being a winning issue for President Trump in 2020 if “we sit here and act like there isn’t a crisis,” adding that it’s not only “crazy people living in border states” who are worried about it.

After Meghan McCain’s commentary, Joy Behar countered that Nielsen’s replacement, acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan, would like to send aid to Central American countries and that would be “the way to solve the problem.”

McCain, abruptly interrupted Behar, interjecting: “Give a Nicaraguan a house? We’ve had a bunch of liberal guests who don’t want to send in aid at all.”

“I’ve listened to you, let me finish,” Behar shot back.

“It’s part of your job to listen to me,” McCain, snarkily remarked while flipping her hair to the discomfort of her fellow panel members.

A visibly annoyed, Behar, kept her cool but co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, who had just returned to the show after being away for over a month to recover from a life-threatening case of pneumonia and sepsis, wasn’t having McCain’s shenanigans.

Goldberg chimed in: “Okay, so here’s the deal. Here’s what’s not going to happen today: we’re not going to do this. Everybody gets a conversation piece, everybody gets to say their piece, and we don’t need to comment if we don’t like what we’re hearing. Just let folks talk.”

And at that point, Goldberg tossed the ball back to the elder of the two women to allow Behar to finish her point. Behar, who was still shaken by the comment, never regained her composure and subsequently “forgot” the point she was driving home to McCain.

Fans on Twitter reacted quickly to McCain’s ill-mannered behavior and are now basically calling for the show’s antagonist to be fired.

Behar has come close to walking off the show because of McCain’s childish behavior. And this isn’t the first time that fans have called for her to be kicked off the show. There was a petition launched in January 2018 demanding the network to get rid of her following another heated exchange with a panel member- this time it was Ana Navarro.

“The View” is great at getting their panel members and fans engaged in difficult conversations but when these important subjects get derailed by McCain’s childish behavior, something has to give.
