HPI’s Lynn Seth challenges WoCA attendees to ‘reclaim your life’

Human Performance Institute Performance Coach Lynn Seth took the nearly 400 attendees of DiversityInc’s Women of Color and Their Allies on Oct. 2 in Atlanta through the “human energy crisis” and gave advice on what to do about it.

HPI, a division of Johnson & Johnson (a Fair360 Hall of Fame company) Health and Wellness Solutions, has pioneered a science-based energy management training solution based on more than 30 years of proprietary research and work with elite performers, initially in the sports world. It has since expanded to different fields, including business, medicine and law enforcement. Lynn said she mostly works with people in the business world, or “corporate athletes.”

According to HPI, “only 30% of American employees are engaged and performing to their full potential, and almost half are struggling to balance work and life” as a result of feeling pressure to always be “on.”

HPI breaks down energy into four dimensions: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. Physical energy, which is the foundation of the HPI pyramid, is what people tend to lack in a typical energy assessment, Seth said. HPI’s free energy profile is available here.

“The steps are there,” she said. “My ask is for you to actually take one, right? We talk about reclaiming our time. I’m going to challenge you to reclaim your life. Complete the mission.”
