KeyBank ranked No. 18 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.
KeyBank has donated a three-year $300,000 grant to the Genesis Community Loan Fund, which will help organizations led by people of color create solutions to affordable housing in Maine.
Genesis will provide training and guidance to entrepreneurs of color, including project planning, financing and development. Through the fund, Genesis aims to create at least 120 new units of affordable housing.
“Guidance from the Genesis Fund can assist BIPOC-led organizations and entrepreneurs to obtain public funding and programs they’ve had difficulty accessing in the past,” said Tony DiSotto, Market President, KeyBank Maine. “In turn, these organizations can develop affordable homes for residents. KeyBank is impressed with the Genesis Fund’s innovative approach to addressing housing challenges in our community, and we are proud to support their work.”
Since its establishment, Genesis has helped build and preserve affordable rental housing, create affordable homeownership opportunities and expand capacity for community outreach services such as food pantries, childcare centers and health clinics.
