As Father’s Day approaches next week, a video of a Black father, comedian Deztin “DJ” Pryor, and his son having a conversation has gone viral. Even Captain America shared it.
The endearing clip shows that even though 18-month-old Kingston Jierre is not yet talking in full sentences, he and his dad have a connection that’s clearly evident as they discuss the season finale of the TV show “Empire.”
The video, posted June 4 on Facebook by Pryor’s wife, Shanieke, already has more than 43 million views, 1 million shares, and over 300,000 comments.
“Only this child! Having a full-fledged conversation with Daddy, and Daddy is just as bad,” Shanieke Pryor wrote in the post.
DJ Pryor begins the conversation by saying, “They need to work on that, right?”
“Yes,” Kingston responds.
“Did you understand it, though?” Pryor asks him.
“No,” Kingston responds.
A talk filled with hand gestures and baby babble ensues.
DJ Pryor says to him: “That’s exactly what I was thinking! We think a lot alike.”

The Pryor family, who live in Clarkesville, Tenn., have received an outpouring of attention and endearment due to the video.
“It’s just been crazy,” Shanieke Pryor told The Leaf Chronicle. “I think sometimes we’re just in disbelief on just how fast it has grown. My husband didn’t even know I had posted it.”
“We just gave everybody a glimpse of what happens all the time,” DJ Pryor said.
Kingston understands his new-found fame, according to Pryor.
“I feel like he understands. He’s been walking around the house like he knows he’s famous, and I don’t like it at all,” he joked.
