Shane Nelson

Shane Nelson is Fair360’s Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he helps to synthesize, produce and deliver workplace insights to clients to help them drive an effective workforce planning strategy to ensure equity for all employees. 

Nelson had previously worked for Fair360 for 14 years, debriefing senior executives on their Top 50 survey results and offering best practices and recommendations on next steps. Nelson oversaw the content strategy for the Top 50 event and was the editor of Fair360’s Best Practices website, which offered articles, research, videos and webinars across the full spectrum of inclusion management.

Prior to rejoining Fair360 as COO, Nelson served as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Business Partner for Sanofi. He worked closely with senior leaders in integrating equity and inclusion throughout the company and driving progress. He also oversaw and advised the company’s fairness councils and collaborated with talent management, talent acquisition, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and learning and development to embed inclusion in talent acquisition and talent development processes and initiatives.

Before working at Sanofi, Nelson was a principal at Culture@Work, a division of Seramount (formerly known as Working Mother Media). He worked with global companies to design culture change and engagement strategies that maximized inclusion efforts. In this role, Nelson conducted culture assessments and inclusion diagnostics that mapped workplace challenges and delivered tailored client solutions. He designed and moderated employee listening sessions hearing nearly 7,000 across-industry perspectives on organizational culture, inclusion, engagement, workplace bias, talent management, leader effectiveness and team dynamics.

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government and an executive MBA from Rutgers University. Nelson lives in Piscataway, NJ, with his wife and has four children.
