Charlie Sifford, First Black Golfer on PGA Tour, Dies at 92

Charles L. “Charlie” Sifford, the first Black golfer allowed to compete on golf’s PGA Tour, has passed away at the age of 92, following a recent stroke.

“It is with great sadness that the world of golf has lost a faithful ambassador in PGA member Dr. Charles L. Sifford,” said Derek Sprague, President of the PGA of America.
