Georgia Natural Gas Hosts Earth Day Electronics Recycling Event

Southern Company ranked No. 19 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

Georgia Natural Gas, with parent organization Southern Company, has partnered with Lenox Square and eWaste ePlanet to encourage recycling for Earth Day.

Residents of the area are invited to Lenox Square, a shopping center in Atlanta, to drop off unwanted electronics, including cell phones, computers, monitors, printers, televisions, radios and machines. These electronics will be recycled responsibly by eWaste ePlanet.

“Georgia Natural Gas believes in helping our customers build a sustainable future. Last year’s Earth Day recycling event was so successful, we collected 15,000 pounds of electronics previously destined for a landfill. That was a record. This year, we’re encouraging the Atlanta community, including residential neighbors and metro area businesses and schools, to help us to collect 20,000 pounds,” said Maurice Baker, Manager of Community Relations at GNG.

With the help of the event, sponsors aimed to recycle 20,000 pounds of consumer electronics throughout the year. The recycling event also included giveaways and the chance to win a $500 Simon gift card.
