Kaiser Permanente Provides Support for the People of Maui

Kaiser Permanente is a Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Hall of Fame company.

Kaiser Permanente is providing support for the people of Maui in response to wildfires.

The company has provided healthcare and coverage to the people of Hawaii for more than 65 years, operating five clinics in Maui. Its first Maui clinic at Lahaina was destroyed in the fires.

Kaiser Foundation Hospitals also manage Maui Health, where medical professionals and staff from Kaiser Permanente and Maui Health are actively providing care to fire victims, evaluating at-risk groups and addressing the healthcare requirements of the community.

Teams have also been deployed to provide behavioral health and medical care in local shelters, checking on home patients and delivering supplies and medication.

The company has also donated $300,000 to the American Red Cross of Hawaii, the Salvation Army of Hawaii and the Maui Food Bank. The company matched $100,000 in donations from staff members, which was exceeded within two hours.

“We will continue to focus on delivering care, service, and comfort to the people of Maui in the wake of this tragedy and in the future as recovery efforts are able to move forward. Together, we will continue to help ensure high-quality and compassionate care is available to all who need it,” the company wrote.

As of August 18, Kaiser Permanente and Maui Health have contributed more than $1.08 million in donations.
