Recently, TIAA received a silver Anthem Award for community engagement in employee fundraising initiatives. The award recognizes the collaborative efforts of TIAA’s community and employee partnerships.

“It is an honor for TIAA to be recognized for work that is so important to the heart of our company,” said Laura Turner, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at TIAA. “We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities where we work and live. While we continue to grow and learn, we are very proud of the work have done so far and are excited to continue to be the change.”

Throughout the pandemic, TIAA continued its philanthropic efforts, despite new challenges. Be Active was created as a way to promote both physical activity and fundraising. Through each Be Active campaign associates turned hours of activity into donations to charitable organizations. From internet access for low-income families to meals for those in need, associates and their families made a positive impact in their communities. Be Active remains a successful fundraising initiative that will continue to support different charities and non-profit organizations.

For two decades, the Anthem Awards have recognized those who make a positive impact on society. Individuals and organizations worldwide are selected in multiple categories, including: diversity, equity and inclusion; education, art and culture; health; human and civil rights; humanitarian action and services; responsible technology; and sustainability, environment and climate.
