US Bank’s Anita Colvin Shares Efforts in Female Representation

Anita Colvin is Senior Vice President, Division Manager of Manufacturing Vendor Services at U.S. Bank. U.S. Bank ranked No. 17 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

Anita Colvin became the first woman in her role in 2021. With this achievement, she encourages other women in the industry to follow in her footsteps.

Colvin spent more than 12 years in branch banking, moving her way up throughout the years until she found an opportunity on the equipment finance team. She became the first woman general manager in that sales organization.

“When I took this role, I knew enough about manufacturing to be dangerous, and I still continue to learn every day,” she said. “In my sales organization, we have folks who have been in this space for many years and are experts because they’re working on transactions every day. I’m always of the mindset that great leaders ask great questions, and my team would certainly tell you I ask a lot of them.”

The equipment finance team is largely male-dominated, but Colvin serves as an advocate for female representation. She serves on the Women in Manufacturing Oregon Chapter Board and is a member of the U.S. Bank Women’s Business Resource Group. She also serves as an active mentor in both the internship and MentorConnect programs at U.S. Bank.

“I’m absolutely trying to help other women follow my path,” she said. “Creating a diverse team is a critical piece of moving forward. When we all think alike, we limit our long-term growth.”
