The BASF site in Freeport, Texas, is supporting food insecurity needs in Brazoria County this holiday season with a $10,000 donation to the Brazosport Cares Food Pantry. In 2020, more than 9,000 community members were served by the food pantry.
“Food insecurity is a serious problem in communities throughout Texas and Brazoria County,” said Chris Witte, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the BASF Site in Freeport, Texas. “The Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated that now more than ever we need to take action against food insecurity. BASF is pleased to continue partnering with Brazosport Cares Food Pantry to help our community.”
As a result of BASF’s donation, the company was named the Grand Ol Christmas Show’s premier sponsor. Each year, proceeds from the show are donated to a local nonprofit.
“The Grand Ol’ Production Company is deeply humbled by the support we continue to receive for our show and to support our local nonprofit partner, Brazosport Cares Food Pantry,” said Will Hearn, Executive Producer. “This marks the 6th year BASF has sponsored the annual event and the 3rd year as the presenting sponsor. We are particularly grateful to BASF not only for their steadfast support but for helping us put a spotlight on the great work being done by Brazosport Cares Food Pantry.”
BASF has also been named a Hunger Hero by the Brazosport Cares Food Pantry for its continued financial support and BASF employees volunteering their time and talents to help community members in need.
“Brazosport Cares is thrilled to be the co-presenter and beneficiary of this year’s Grand Ol’ Christmas Show,” said Christy Frey, Executive Director. “The show is a holiday tradition our community looks forward to each year. We are also thankful for BASF’s participation. Their continued support not only makes it possible to delight and entertain the audience but will help provide meals for families in our community this holiday season.”
