Accenture shared how it’s boosting sustainability and tackling food insecurity through its Global Citizen Sustainability Innovation Challenge series.
Global Citizen is an action platform dedicated to eliminating extreme poverty. Accenture has partnered with Global Citizen since 2020 to help defeat poverty, defend the planet and demand equity.
“The biggest problem facing the future of food will be food security,” said Irina Niculicea, Technology Innovation Strategy Manager at Accenture. “We as customers have to change our behavior, how we think about food, what we consume because of climate change.”
Niculicea and her team have created a resource for farmers and customers to ensure sustainable consumption. Using data from satellites and Blockchain, farmers and consumers can trace their food back to the source of every ingredient.
