Beyond Inclusion: What Sets Companies Apart in Attracting Women of Color

Women of color are an untapped pool of talent, perspectives and innovation with immense potential for companies. Despite their unique contributions, the valuable demographic has historically been underrepresented and underused in many workplaces.   

“It’s not just a matter of we’ve got a role — we built it, they will come, but really being purposeful about the process, whether that’s through pay or even your hiring process,” says Dr. Nakeisha Lewis, Associate Dean of Student Success at the Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego and member of The PhD Project.  

Companies that attract women of color demonstrate a genuine commitment to workplace fairness that goes beyond lip service.
