On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Nissan Americas named Chandra Vasser, a 17-year veteran of the company, as the car manufacturer’s first-ever Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer.
“In this newly created role, Vasser will drive Nissan’s strategy to expand diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across business functions in the Americas region, while developing partnerships and plans to share the company’s DEI commitment with employees, customers and the community,” the company said in a statement.
Jérémie Papin, chairperson of Nissan Americas, praised Vasser for her long work history with the company and the expertise she will bring to her new role.
