Global food giant Cargill, Inc., one of the largest privately held corporations in the United States based on revenue, has appointed its first-ever chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer.
“It’s the first time the agribusiness giant has had a position specifically devoted to diversity,” Niepow said. “As a global company, Cargill has already been diversifying its ranks throughout the years. In late 2020, Cargill joined the likes of Walmart [No. 22 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2021], Nike and more than 30 other companies to launch a new initiative aimed at increasing employment opportunities for Black Americans.”
